If you get a rock chip in your windshield, you need to get it taken care of before it has the chance to grow into a huge, unsightly crack and before you have damage that is near impossible to repair. If you just take the time (only about 30 minutes or less!) to just take care of the rock chip as soon as it happens, then you won't have to buy a brand new windshield. You might think that a crack isn't so bad, but it actually weakens your windshield and it can even cause you to get a ticket. You will also fail any vehicle inspection because of it. It is a small cost to pay compared to the cost of buying a brand new windshield and your insurance may even cover it. All you need is your insurance card. So don't ignore that rock chip-it will cost you.
