Newer vehicles are increasingly complicated and connected, with multiple computers controlling all of your basic driving functions. With this increase in complexity, there are checks built in to effectively communicate issues to the driver through your "check engine" light.

When this light is illuminated, an error code is produced in the cars computer that can be read through the OBD, or "On Board Diagnostics", port. The nature of errors illuminated by your check engine light could include major and minor issues. While a loose gas cap may produce a warning light, a cylinder misfire, bad oxygen sensor, and/or failing cooling system produce the same check engine light.

Routing multiple computers and functions into a single error message, such as your check engine light, means that you will need a computer that can assess the root issue. We in our service department have the equipment to read this code, inform you of the issue and suggest the most cost effective, quality repair to maintain your vehicle. Simply contact us, or visit our dealership for the most direct line to having this important issue diagnosed.
